The function of the homogenizing agent (homogenizer) is to modify the compatibility between different polymers, making blending easier. The dispersion (distribution) state of the blend composition is improved, promoting uniformity, enhancing mixing efficiency, and resulting in a compact batch. As a result, the variability in the mechanical properties of the vulcanizates is reduced. Additionally, the tendency to increase the tack and flow of the batch is also advantageous in practical applications. In the case of applying it to butyl rubber formulations, in addition to the aforementioned property improvements, an additional effect of reduced air permeability can also be expected.
